The above passages of Scriptures come from 1 John. In context they
refer to people who do not acknowledge Christ as having come in the
flesh (people who deny the physical manifestation and thus the
atonement death of Jesus on the cross for us) (1 John 4:2,3; 2John
1:7). The passage on no one being able to say that Jesus is Lord
except by the Holy Spirit comes from 1 Corinthians 12:3 and again is
referring to a human saying those things, rather than a demon. The
deliverance ministry has used those as a check point, speaking
directly to the demons possessing the human to reply affirmative or
negative to those statements. The lower spirits are compelled to tell
the truth but the more sly higher demonic realms know how to clothe
their answer in other means. The most important procedures in
demonology is as follows:
1. As a rule, do not talk to demons for they are all liars and capable
of telling lies even when asked to tell the truth. There are NO
biblical patterns or examples in the life of Jesus or the disciples to
ever converse with demons. Instead Jesus has always commanded the
demons to shut up and come out.
2. If one is incapable of telling a demon from a good spirit, than one
is incapable of casting them out. Those who are spiritually qualified
and grown in their spirits can tell straightaway without having to
interrogate the demons as to who they are. Spiritual discernment is
proportional to spiritual authority.
3. All Christians can cast our demons in Jesus Name (Mark 16). They do
not have to talk to them but merely call on the name of Jesus in
faith.
4. Some demons are more stubborn and an atmosphere of worship and word
is all that is necessary to eject them.
5. The anointing of the Holy Spirit releases a force that ejects the
demons. The anointing within also have similar capacity when developed
in a believer.
